The government of Ceylon launched their very first 5 rupee banknote in 1895. in 1894 These were followed closely by 10 notes that are rupee.
In 1899 They released 1000 rupee notes,
In 1914 They released 50 rupee notes,
In 1917 They released 1 and 2 rupee notes,
in 1926, They released 100 and 500 rupee records.

In 1951, the Central Bank of Ceylon annexed the issuance of paper revenue, launching 1 and 10 rupee notes. We were holding adopted in 1952 by 2, 5, 50 and 100 notes that are rupee. The 1 rupee records happened to be replaced by coins in 1963.
